Tiny Wonders by Sally Soweol Han

When you pick up this book be sure to read it carefully and slowly. It is only through careful word placement that we know April's precious grandmother has died.

"Grandma had never been too busy."

"They had been Grandma's favourite."

"Grandma always said that good things take time."

April lives in a grey world where everyone is too busy to "stop and smell the roses" meaning they are too bust to notice their surroundings - all eyes are glued to mobile phone. April's Grandmother has told her about the language of flowers. Dandelions mean happiness. April is determined to find some dandelion seeds, to plant them and to restore that much needed happiness.

Take a look at Sally Soweol Han's web site to see more of her work. Tiny Wonders is her first book. On the final two pages of this book Sally lists 32 flowers with their meaning. Daffodil "I'm proud"; Freesia "I'm here for you"; Hibiscus "You're so beautiful"; and Camellia "I really, truly love you!".
