These are the covers of two books that you will find in our Australian bookshops. I talked about A Year in Fleurville a few days ago. Today my friend shared her discovery about these books by Felicita Sala and they way they have been "translated" for a US audience. This lead me to investigate further and I found some interesting translations. I can completely understand these titles needed to be changed for publication in Portuguese, Polish, Spanish or German but what about when these two books are published in the US? Why did the title and most probably part of the text need to change? The German editions are wildly different too.
