Forever by Beatrice Alemagna

"There are lots of things in life that don't last forever.

Sometimes things change."

Using beautiful transparent overlays for each action or concept or idea in this book the reader is taken from before to after. We sleep then open our eyes; a scrape from a bike accident might not even leave a mark; soap bubble and musical sounds drift away; and tears always dry up.

Beatrice Alemagna is an Italian illustrator. Forever was originally published in French under the title Les choses qui s'en vont.  Forever would is a book you should add to your school library collection and it is one to also share with art teachers and anyone interested in exquisite book design. Take a look here to see more of the pages.

Beatrice Alemagna has published 30 books for children and they are translated into Swedish, English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, German, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Lithuanian. Here are some of her previous books I have shared on this blog:

The Marvellous Fluffy Squishy Itty Bitty
