Good Night, World by Nicola Edwards illustrated by Hannah Tolson

There is one truly poignant page in this book which I discovered tonight as I read this during the time of Coronavirus - covid-19.

"When we're far from our loved ones and it's time for bed,
a phone call replaces a kiss on the head.
That voice says 'Goodnight!' and we don't feel so far,
'Goodnight!' finds you too, wherever you are."

Let's learn to say goodnight in a variety of languages - Swahili; Mandarin, Russian, Finnish, Arabic, Hindi, Germand, French and Korean.  Each is presented in script and with a pronunciation guide.  Young readers will see pages of children from around the world -  their night time and bedtime rituals.

"When the bright sun has set, up to bed we all go,
we cuddle up close when the moon is aglow.
We all share the same stars that twinkle by night,
we all have our dreams and we all say 'Goodnight!"

Here are some other books on the theme of saying goodnight.
